 MONEY...

...A “Love” Poem for North America

“I care not what puppet is placed upon the throne of England to rule the empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls the British money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply." Baron Nathan Mayer Rothschild (16 September 1777 – 28 July 1836)

Money (“noun”) is:

an invisible breakfast our kids can't eat

on their way to your school, its bitter and bewildered

windows all broken but its steel doors

still secretly forged, and always open, for suffering.

Money (aka “plunder”) is

an American word for regime change

an Israeli word for friendship

a Russian word for the revolution of the kleptocrat

a Spanish or Chilean word for a fascist military coup

…and more, much more…

Global Rights - Cultures

...And here, for those who do not know (nor care)

here are the uncountable, unrecognisable,

the poorest of people, the ones Neruda called:

“Frutas de sol a todos los oscuros!

…Tú encendiste la vida”

the ones Roque described as

“those who had a bit more luck,

the eternal illegal immigrants,

who’d do anything, sell anything, eat anything,

the first ones to pull a knife,

the saddest of the sad,

my compatriots,

my brothers…”

but they have no names (only shadows

on the peripheries of poverty),

no faces we will recognise (as they pass

us by)

only statistics:

“In 1842 in Manchester, UK,

the average age of death for labourers was 17 years,

men, women and children were worked to death to fuel rapid

industrial expansion and grow the expansion and grow

the fortunes of the owners of this new economy.” (Oxfam)

…only a fear of figures that never match up,

bills unpaid, hunger hidden, debt collectors come

kicking at your door

… and still, they say,

we live,

in “the best of all

possible worlds”..?

Rather than solely a US phenomenon Oxfam’s paper demonstrates that rising oligarchy is undermining societies worldwide. Oxfam’s report finds...

The report  [19 January 2026 ]

Resisting the Rule of the Rich: Protecting Freedom from Billionaire Power

"analyses how the super-rich are securing political power to shape the rules of our economies and societies for their own gain and to the detriment of the rights and freedoms of people around the world."

"It is one thing for a billionaire to buy an enormous yacht or many luxury homes around the world. This excessive consumption can be rightly criticized in a deeply unequal world where the majority of people have very little and our planet is suffocating from relentless carbon emissions and waste. But many would reject this criticism, describing it as the politics on envy.

Yet far fewer people would disagree that when a billionaire uses their wealth to buy a politician, to influence a government, to own a newspaper or a social media platform, or to out-lawyer any opposition to ensure they are above the law, that these actions undermine progress and fairness. Such power gives billionaires control over all our futures, undermining political freedom and the rights of the rest of us."

"Takers Not Makers: The unjust poverty and unearned wealth of colonialism"

20 January 2025:  "Billionaire wealth has risen three times faster in 2024 than in 2023. At least five trillionaires are now expected within a decade. Meanwhile, the number of people living in poverty has barely changed since 1990. Inequality is out of control.

Our latest annual inequality report, Takers Not Makersexplores how most billionaire wealth is taken, not earned - with 60% coming from either inheritance, cronyism or monopoly power. Furthermore, our deeply unequal world remains colonial in many ways. There is a long history of colonial domination which has largely benefited the richest people. This system still extracts wealth from the Global South to the super-rich 1% in the Global North at a rate of $30million an hour. This must be reversed."

  ...

"And so Marx wrote:

"The worker becomes poorer the more wealth he produces, the more his production increases in power and size. The worker becomes an ever cheaper commodity the more commodities he produces."

(Capital, Volume I, Chapter 25)

And even Timothy, the Disciple of Jesus, agreed

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”  (1 Timothy 6:10 - King James Version)..."

"Il denaro (o meglio, il “bottino”) è / una parola americana per il cambio di regime / una parola israeliana per l’amicizia / una parola russa per la rivoluzione del cleptocrate / una parola spagnola o cilena per un colpo di stato militare fascista /
…e altro, molto altro… – Una poesia di Séamas Carraher"

DENARO – Una poesia “d’amore” per il Nord America

"Life has become unbearably difficult for ordinary citizens and now - from Nairobi to Bangladesh, Italy to Peru - workers of the world are downing their tools and demanding better, rejecting a global economic order that treats their suffering as necessary for profit." (WANJIRA WANJIRU)

 For the Schoolgirls of Minab

1

Listen.

Someone is hiding-out

in this hole in my head.

They dug it real-deep

with difficult books about

the future of humankind

not the profound catastrophe

of warheads

nor the grim profits

of

greedy businessmen

and now never to be forgotten

“Based on what I’ve seen, it was done by Iran”

 US President, Donald Trump

"His comments came as the investigative group Bellingcat said a newly released video appears to contradict Trump’s claim that Iran was responsible for the attack. The three-second clip of a video circulated Sunday by Iran’s semiofficial Mehr news agency shows a munition falling on a building. Trevor Ball of Bellingcat identified the munition as a Tomahawk cruise missile—which only the U.S. is known to possess in the war. Previous reports by the New York Times and Reuters also point to U.S. culpability for the deadly school strike.”

“Executive Orders”

1

Their war will soon come

like rain falls for all of us

weary and hungry to be

free from fear

a war as subtle and endless

as a deluge in

a murderous monsoon

from small greedy steps

giant armies plague and poison

our soft-sweet planet.

2

The names and numbers of our dead,

we see, are now likewise superfluous,

swiftly cut-down and soon erased

uncountable, too, as if we had brought

to birth

only an excess of bone and brains

and always the rotting guts spread

like fertiliser, faceless and serene

on the Empire's brutal battlefields.

3

i still cannot shut my eyes at night

at the terror of it,

the ruthless noise of its wretched

awakenings, its crudity, its lies

and the smell of hypocrisy

that should sicken even the sadistic

stomachs of these naked emperors and

their mass murder-machines.

Enough said...

4

…for now we live in a time where

even the pen has been beaten into a sword,

and this paper is now digitally transformed

into more proclamations of mass destruction

and see, one last deadly plague descend,

as this fool, he wields his dumb ‘sharpie

and a whole world will soon collapse under

an army of Orders

cities under siege by bureaucrats

and bombs, by bullies and buffoons

with their armada of armed threats

and false promises

and always, and everywhere

the silenced cry of their exterminated victims...

5

Such power...in

the hands of hoodlums!

as if these masked and demented delinquents,

these well-armed, well-dressed and dangerous thugs,

these crooks, criminals and con-men

had not accomplished or stolen enough

on their monotonous and marauding march

across the inhuman yet still faceless face

of our own bloody History.

IRAN OR MINNEAPOLIS?

ANOTHER ICE MURDER

Finally: Hope for the future?

Alternative “Executive Order”

Zohran Mamdani announces anti-ICE executive order

“If faith offers us the moral compass to stand alongside the stranger, government can provide the resources. Let us create a new expectation of city hall where power is wielded to love, to embrace, and to protect. We will stand with the stranger today, tomorrow, and all the days that are still to come.”

 Fear of the Father?

On not listening to Donald Trump’s

State of the Union Address, 2026

Global Rights - International

1

He comes through his whirlwind

of hate

like a force to be reckoned with.

His belt like a child-eating snake

curling its lip into the sneer

of power.

i run the length of our

collective poverty

to escape the blows

i hide beneath tables

that never ever saw

a book open

or a pen poised

or a clean sheet

of pure white paper. [Contd.].

...4

a man who will beat his children

with brutality

is just one more tyrant among many

like

this fascist

of the airwaves

the one who never managed to find

a refuge from the belt

or the snarling sneer and

so was

forced to become President

of All and Everything

and Nothing...[contd]

 To the Enemies of Humankind

…and for the Kurdish people in Rojava, Occupied Kurdistan

.../for the Palestinian people in Occupied Palestine

and for those resisting, under paramilitary siege, in the Occupied Cities of the U.S.

“Our choice is clear; victory or victory.”

YPJ Commander Raya Mihemed (Hasakah, Rojava):

 1

Me? i’ve fought this radio to a homicidal truce

where it hides beneath its bunker of books,

the ones i’ve torn pages from,

instead of letting them argue their lies to

my illiterate children, down all these years

living as a slave.

i’ve fought the ghosts of enemies

i misunderstood in their sentry posts

on the walls of Immorality

and so they bombed my shelters,

slaughtered my dreams,

imprisoned every single one of my

demands in dungeons and despair

and all my wretched howling was

to no avail.

Now i am an old man in the midst

of endless war.

My stomach hurts,

my bones ache, my eyes

bleed daily

with the countless casualties

inflicted on us

for believing in a better world.

And still it rains here,

constantly.

2

All this water must soon

swiftly flee

to find its way from

the river to the sea

and bring with it both

the bodies of the dead,

slaughtered for spite and

the butchers’ greed

as well as these lies that tell me

“thank you for your attention”

…as if this will always be the way

things are…

Fuck all that.

3

i am, an old man with a grudge.

i am an old man with a grudge i

am proud of.

i’ve slept in doorways

cursing the rain.

i’ve bitten the hand that

refused to feed me.

By now, my enemies should

have all died before me

just so i could dance

on their graves,

this pathetic dance of the

drunkard i longed to be

and even failed, too frequently

at that task.

4

But now i look all around me

and all i see are these humanless humanoids,

these brainless brutes with their bankroll

as big as their toothless mouths

with their vicious brains and their fucking bombs

their militias, presidents, spies,

their assassins, warships, artillery and airbases

and always, always, their greedy twisted tongues

telling me to bow and scrape and serve

to this servile religion of slavery and servitude

and i know today for sure

what i was told as a child

Oh, let this “sleeping beast” sleep

for if it wakes it will shake

the whole wide world”.

5

And so i surely know

this “sleeping beast”

must be the human heart,

this one right here being

torn in two

and no motherfucking shiteating

murdering fascist

in all the thieves’ dens

in all the bars and brothels of a world

already sold to these bankers

and billionaires

will

stop

it…

not all the “sick beings” in

their broken world

can stop our insurgent and

uprising war.

6

So, please, go search,

go out and search

for Her,

i tell you now

this heart,

this human heart,

insubordinate,

seditious,

subversive

insurrected!

To stand up and defend Rojava is a duty for anybody committed to freedom and equality.
