 POISON…

Global Rights

1

Listen now

so you may welcome,

your daily dose of this

Loudmouth’s lies

just more icing

on the cake

of their crude confessions

or like nails that nail truth’s

coffin-lid shut tight.

Observe,

(“treasonous SCUM”),

all these grand gestures

(“Quiet, quiet, Piggy!”)

from the sickest circus in a

sad sick world

…and Beware

this loud-mouthed mendacity, its fabrications,

his posturing, how they prevaricate and proliferate,

how they hover in the air, like a poison or a promise

of worse-to-come…

(“A whole civilisation will die tonight.

Never to be brought back again.”)

Contd: GLOBAL RIGHTS

“The events of 2025 made one thing painfully clear: the world’s super-rich have not only accumulated more wealth than could ever be spent – they have also used this wealth to secure the political power to shape the rules that define our economies and govern nations and the world. As this chapter will show, the super-rich have built their political power in three main ways: by buying politics, investing in legitimizing elite power, and directly accessing institutions.

“Many billionaires are seeding a philosophy of division that spreads racial, sexist and anti-LGBTQI+ hate, and seeks to divide the working class and all others who oppose billionaire power. A range of state and religious actors in the Global North are capitalizing on this to reorient state power towards a reassertion of an often racist and sexist system that favours the wealthy, privileges men, and harms and disadvantages women and LGBTQI+ people in the name of ‘traditional’ family values.”

Resisting the Rule of the Rich - Oxfam Ireland  – January, 2026

...7

Oh, and then

 this loud mouthed “mountaineer”,

another old man with his dark despicable habits

who floods the air with poison and the promises

that we are all now no better than mud-creatures

dumb-thoughtless-monsters, half-human, senseless,

endlessly marauding, rapacious, repellent,

repulsive...

And so, the poet said:

“He rolls the executions on his tongue like berries.

He wishes he could hug them like big friends from home.”

(“Thank you for your attention.”)

 MONEY...

...A “Love” Poem for North America

“I care not what puppet is placed upon the throne of England to rule the empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls the British money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply." Baron Nathan Mayer Rothschild (16 September 1777 – 28 July 1836)

Money (“noun”) is:

an invisible breakfast our kids can't eat

on their way to your school, its bitter and bewildered

windows all broken but its steel doors

still secretly forged, and always open, for suffering.

Money (aka “plunder”) is

an American word for regime change

an Israeli word for friendship

a Russian word for the revolution of the kleptocrat

a Spanish or Chilean word for a fascist military coup

…and more, much more…

Global Rights - Cultures

...And here, for those who do not know (nor care)

here are the uncountable, unrecognisable,

the poorest of people, the ones Neruda called:

“Frutas de sol a todos los oscuros!

…Tú encendiste la vida”

the ones Roque described as

“those who had a bit more luck,

the eternal illegal immigrants,

who’d do anything, sell anything, eat anything,

the first ones to pull a knife,

the saddest of the sad,

my compatriots,

my brothers…”

but they have no names (only shadows

on the peripheries of poverty),

no faces we will recognise (as they pass

us by)

only statistics:

“In 1842 in Manchester, UK,

the average age of death for labourers was 17 years,

men, women and children were worked to death to fuel rapid

industrial expansion and grow the expansion and grow

the fortunes of the owners of this new economy.” (Oxfam)

…only a fear of figures that never match up,

bills unpaid, hunger hidden, debt collectors come

kicking at your door

… and still, they say,

we live,

in “the best of all

possible worlds”..?

Rather than solely a US phenomenon Oxfam’s paper demonstrates that rising oligarchy is undermining societies worldwide. Oxfam’s report finds...

The report  [19 January 2026 ]

Resisting the Rule of the Rich: Protecting Freedom from Billionaire Power

"analyses how the super-rich are securing political power to shape the rules of our economies and societies for their own gain and to the detriment of the rights and freedoms of people around the world."

"It is one thing for a billionaire to buy an enormous yacht or many luxury homes around the world. This excessive consumption can be rightly criticized in a deeply unequal world where the majority of people have very little and our planet is suffocating from relentless carbon emissions and waste. But many would reject this criticism, describing it as the politics on envy.

Yet far fewer people would disagree that when a billionaire uses their wealth to buy a politician, to influence a government, to own a newspaper or a social media platform, or to out-lawyer any opposition to ensure they are above the law, that these actions undermine progress and fairness. Such power gives billionaires control over all our futures, undermining political freedom and the rights of the rest of us."

"Takers Not Makers: The unjust poverty and unearned wealth of colonialism"

20 January 2025:  "Billionaire wealth has risen three times faster in 2024 than in 2023. At least five trillionaires are now expected within a decade. Meanwhile, the number of people living in poverty has barely changed since 1990. Inequality is out of control.

Our latest annual inequality report, “Takers Not Makers” explores how most billionaire wealth is taken, not earned - with 60% coming from either inheritance, cronyism or monopoly power. Furthermore, our deeply unequal world remains colonial in many ways. There is a long history of colonial domination which has largely benefited the richest people. This system still extracts wealth from the Global South to the super-rich 1% in the Global North at a rate of $30million an hour. This must be reversed."

  ...

"And so Marx wrote:

"The worker becomes poorer the more wealth he produces, the more his production increases in power and size. The worker becomes an ever cheaper commodity the more commodities he produces."

(Capital, Volume I, Chapter 25)

And even Timothy, the Disciple of Jesus, agreed

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”  (1 Timothy 6:10 - King James Version)..."

"Il denaro (o meglio, il “bottino”) è / una parola americana per il cambio di regime / una parola israeliana per l’amicizia / una parola russa per la rivoluzione del cleptocrate / una parola spagnola o cilena per un colpo di stato militare fascista /
…e altro, molto altro… – Una poesia di Séamas Carraher"

DENARO – Una poesia “d’amore” per il Nord America

"Life has become unbearably difficult for ordinary citizens and now - from Nairobi to Bangladesh, Italy to Peru - workers of the world are downing their tools and demanding better, rejecting a global economic order that treats their suffering as necessary for profit." (WANJIRA WANJIRU)

Making Money from War

Global Rights - Human Rights

1

Listen:

We stand at the edge of a fucking Abyss. Its rabble-rousing smoke

silently sucking the oxygen from already crucified lungs. Like

lemmings, a hundred million motherless soldiers, our long-lost

brothers and sisters, (your own sons and daughters, comrades and

-neighbours), must soon step out into desolate space

…must soon fall fearlessly where there's no need for flags no more,

no need to fan the bloody fearful flames. Just Money. Only the crude

patriotism of profit, the precision strike of its grasping claws, its

exchange value in an endless use of “smart bombs” and “suicide drones”

…of “Explosive munitions, such as “bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, missiles and similar munitions of war and parts”…“cartridges”, some types of “ammunition and projectiles” and parts, including “shot and cartridge wads”… “bullets”, “Parts and accessories” (of military weapons, including components for “revolvers and pistols”, “Shotguns and rifles”, “Rocket launchers, flamethrowers, grenade launchers, torpedo tubes and similar projectors”, “Tank and other armoured fighting vehicle, motorised, whether or not fitted with weapons, and parts”

…all now lurking overhead, they loiter loveless and indecent in their

homicidal and hateful seduction, soon to descend swiftly with their

algorithms of arrogance and anger, of acquisition, asset and

annihilation… just more “business as usual”…

Welcome then …to the financialisation of fear and terror [Contd.]

UPDATE - The Gaza Strip (14, July, 2026)

Fatalities and injuries

  • Between 7 October 2023 and 12 July 2026, according to the Ministry of Health, as reported by the Health Cluster, 73,231 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip and another 173,686 were injured. This includes 1,084 fatalities and 3,491 injuries between the announcement of a ceasefire agreement on 10 October 2025 and 8 July 2026.
  • UNRWA has recorded 392 colleagues killed in Gaza since the start of the war (310 UNRWA personnel and 82 persons who were supporting UNRWA),[2] up to 15 July.
  • The latest Protection Cluster snapshot revealed that communities continued to report persistent fear and insecurity due to ongoing shelling affecting displacement sites, residential areas, streets, and public spaces. The continued unpredictability has reinforced psychological distress, disrupted daily life, and contributed to a persistent sense of fear and uncertainty among affected populations.

Every Time the News from Gaza

“Let me take this moment to condemn again, from the bottom of my soul and my guts, the State of Israel. Damn you, State of Israel! Damn you terrorists and murderers…” (Hugo Chavez - 2009)

Global Rights - Human Rights

One

Every time the news from Gaza escapes, i shut down my sorrow with home-made and improvised munitions, manufactured from the merciless agony stored in this silenced world’s sick-sordid soul.

No factories needed. No friendly handshakes across continents colonial in their well-fed contempt. No bribes. No cynical “ceasefires” here! No fabricated and fictitious falsehoods from this scandalous and homicidal “axis of settler evil”. No butchery. Just this homemade-stuff,  sharper than the sigh of shrapnel to the spirit, conceived and born, likewise, in dangerous and deserted laneways and alleys of the imagination, amid the debris and the destroyed lives that will forever drift like ghosts all around us.

Every time the news from Gaza (or Beirut) takes flight, slips its “administrative-detention” like another calamity fleeing through forests of fear, (those forged in the furious forgetfulness of foolish politicians), i shut down my grief with plans to blow up the whole of this wretched-wicked world

with sad clowns’ balloons and the birthday parties of dead children who will laugh no longer but must today sit in judgment on this, our strange savage species and this cruelty we somehow call “humanity”.

Every time, yes, every single savage time. [Contd.]

Ogni volta che arrivano notizie da Gaza (Diritti Globali)

Soumaya Ghannoushi:

“Eid has just ended. Across much of the Muslim world, families gathered around tables, children wore new clothes, homes echoed with laughter. But in Gaza, Eid arrived carrying death. One image showed a mother named Hidaya taking her daughters shopping for Eid clothes. The girls went inside. She stayed outside. Moments later, an Israeli strike hit. The girls ran back outside in panic. Their mother was lying in the street, dead, covered in blood. Another clip lasted only a few seconds. A man stood among the ruins of a building destroyed by an Israeli air-strike. In his arms, he carried the body of a little girl. Her body was shattered, charred, soaked in blood. As he lifted her from the rubble, he screamed, "This is the first day of Eid." The third image showed tents burning in the darkness of an Eid night…Think about that for a moment.”

 Hiba Abu Nada

“My back—I do not claim you broke it—

yet something in you sought to break it.

My wings, once burdened with pain,

now fly freely

in the skies of might.”

Hiba Abu Nada – murdered by the Israeli Defense Forces - while at her home in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. She was 32 years old…

“…was a Palestinian novelist, poet, educator, and nutritionist from Gaza. Her novel Oxygen is Not for the Dead won the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2017. She held a BA in Biochemistry and an MA in Clinical Nutrition from the Islamic University.”

Hiba was killed alongside her son in October 2023 by the Israeli bombardments.” (ArabLitQuarterly “Letters From Gaza”)

Sergio Segio:

"There is no corner of the world—at least on the surface, though I believe much escapes our eyes, filled with horror and pain—where wars, massacres, and fascism—old and new, aseptic and technological—are not advancing. Now they have even poisoned Belfast with their fetid racist breath, tainting the memory and past struggles for freedom.

Let us resist the filth and transform it into new anger against them, against the system that produces them, and new love for the oppressed and tortured. They will never pay enough.

 A Land Without a People?

A People Without a Land

…this abomination – [is now] - a test of our collective legal and moral responsibility… (Francesca Albanese)

Global Rights - Human Rights

1

Shit, Éretz Yisra’él, now

“your” Land is surely empty, emptied

of its humanity, empty, like despair itself,

dark and desolate, but

not for disease, nor death, nor dying

cleared and cleansed

this sad ceaseless song of these stubborn stones!

2

Here is the Promised Land you purged,

its peoples and its prison-walls papered

with damnation and destruction

and

“What is lost in Palestine will be lost to us all.”

(Francesca Albanese)...Contd.

Francesca Albanese:

 “Hence, I concluded, that genocide

has become the ultimate form of torture,

continuous, generational, collective

…this abomination – a test of our collective

legal and moral responsibility.”

Francesca Albanese:

“Thousands detained without charge, held

in inhuman conditions, beaten, shackled, sexually abused,

denied medical care, starved, raped…”
